Dear CES Members and Friends
Just a friendly reminder that our November forum is this coming Tuesday, 8 November
Topic: “Does Beauty Say Adieu? The Call of Beauty in a Disfigured World”.
The beauty of the world is an icon of God.
Beauty points beyond itself to its source in the Creator.
The disfiguration of this beauty (the ‘groaning of creation’) is not only an ecological, economic and political issue,
It is also a theological issue.
How can the church bear witness to the sacred nature of the earth and her beauty in our society?
Revd. Dr. Graeme Garrett – Graeme is a retired Anglican priest with a long-standing interest in the critical conversation between Christian faith and modern culture, especially in this time of climate change. He is currently Senior Research Fellow at St Mark's National Theological Centre & Professorial Fellow, School of Theology at Charles Sturt University.
Dr Jan Morgan – For much of her life Jan worked as a pastoral care educator at The Peter McCallum Cancer Institute. She is deeply concerned by the inadequacy of our response to climate change, both as Christians and as a society.
